Many Hands

One major faith goal at NBC this year is to double our ‘Many Hands’ support. At the beginning of November 2011 we were around $55,000 annually, while we are striving to hit $100,000 through these 'automatic' monthly donations by Alumni Weekend 2012.

*Progress since Nov 2011: We have 14 NEW ManyHand'ers and 7 existing ManyHand'ers who have increased or doubled their support for an increase of around $11,400. We are now at over $66,000! Praise God with us! On a practical level this means we are approaching almost 25% of our annual "donations budget" being (in theory) guaranteed by way of automatic monthly withdrawals.

Exodus 35 and 36 illustrate the amazing potential of many hands - the Israelites respond to a call to give towards the building of the tabernacle. Gold, silver, linens, labor, and other things were given by each person according to their ability. They responded so incredibly that Moses was forced to ask them to stop giving. Wow - what a problem!

In the context of NBC, “Many Hands” is a faithful team of supporters who partner with us in our ministry by committing to regular monthly giving. If we had 500 people giving $50 a month, our donations budget for a fiscal year would be met. This seems so attainable, and yet, without your hands we can not come close to this exciting possibility. A small monthly amount may seem insignificant, yet, when a large amount of people each give a little, it adds up quickly and becomes invaluable. A monthly contribution of $10, $50 – or more – can be the difference between NBC making its annual budget or not. There are currently about 117 units (individuals, couples, or businesses) that make up this team. 91 of these are alumni!!! Thank you for your commitment to NBC!
