A message from the
three60five Director: Adam Yadlowsky
Our theme for the weekend was A PART OF SOMETHING GREATER, and it was great to be a part of what God did in the hearts and minds of the kids, sponsors, students and even staff.
Our speaker, Craig Glen, did great in preaching the word of God and there was power in what he shared. I know that many of the sponsors and, to be honest, myself included, had been a little worried that he was not booming nor focused entirely on entertaining, but God used this seemingly to make the kids lean in to listen. The conversation in the devotions, reported by the NBC students, was great. The students noted that the kids were listening and the conversation revealed that the kids were hearing and understanding what was being said. Some of the sponsors have shared with us the phenomenal change in their youth witnessed already on the rides home from the weekend. Kids talking for hours about Jesus, asking questions, sharing and praying, kids who had never shown such interest or willingness to share and be so open.

I know that God did work in the through the students and staff and it was another great weekend.
On a more personal note. I know for myself that God spoke to me very clearly and rebuked me not to hold entertainment too highly. If God is speaking truth He does not need to entertain me before I should listen. Through the speaker Friday night God really revealed to me my heart towards wanting the kids to be entertained and He was so clear to me "I am truth, not entertainment." I endeavor to pick speakers who will not just be the show but who will speak from the Word. However God needed to reveal to me that I still had a seed of idolatry towards entertainment. This challenged me to reevaluate my faith in the power of the Word of God. God's word holds the power within itself to captivate and change lives. We need to guard our hearts from believing we have to make God's Word entertaining before it can help or change people. We can become dangerously close to making entertainment our god and letting God simply be another good reason to be entertained. Such a great rebuke from Him. Our God is good and pure.
Every day we face and make decisions that affect us in the things we do with our lives. Life can become about our own plans, whether through sports, video games or relationships. What if there is more to life? What if we were a part of a plan much bigger than ourselves?
In Christ, we are citizens of God’s eternal kingdom. We are a part of God’s family. We are a part of God’s great plan for this world, because, in Christ, we are a part of something greater.
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
Our speaker this year was Craig Glen. Craig has been an Associate Pastor at Hillsdale Baptist Church in Regina SK for the last 8 years. He is married to Jen, his college sweetheart and partner in ministry for 15 blissful years. They have two young sons, William (5) and Emmett (3). After his call to the ministry Craig has great delight in the privilege of serving the Lord and loves seeing people mature in their relationship with Christ. He is passionate about the Word of God and the transforming effects it has upon the people of God.
