Compass Immanuel Church was established around 1940 and currently averages around 150 people per Sunday. We have experienced significant growth over the last five years and have many young families in our church. We are located 5 kms from Rapid View, which is itself a small hamlet with a school and Recreation Centre. Meadow Lake is 20 minutes away with a population around 5,000 but services a large surrounding area.

Position Summary

Compass Immanuel Church is searching for a godly man to direct our youth ministry. This is a full-time position. At the outset, we anticipate this being split with 70% focused on youth ministry and 30% focused on general pastoral duties (this could include preaching, other teaching, visitation, or other administrative duties). Over time, these ratios may change based on individual gifts/passions, and the way we see God at work in our church.

The youth ministry responsibilities would center around a weekly Bible study and bi-weekly activity. We place a high priority on solid Bible teaching and would expect the individual to be competent in expositional teaching with a heart for young people. These Bible studies are approximately an hour each week. The bi-weekly activity nights are important for establishing trust and building relationships but they are secondary in priority and kept separate from the Bible studies so as not to distract from the study. Historically Bible study night is just as well attended as the activity night, which gives an indication of the culture of learning and growing at Compass.

We expect our associate pastor to be a disciple maker, modelling a godly lifestyle with a heart for the lost.
