June 3-7, 2024

2024 marks NBC’s 33rd Annual Encore Retreat - a retreat designed for those who are age 55+. Each year this retreat brings with it the anticipation of renewing acquaintances and making new friends. These retreats are designed so that personal refreshment and spiritual renewal are blended with learning and fellowship in a very relaxed atmosphere.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Pastor Mike Ginther serves as pastor of the Community Bible Church in Prince Albert, SK. Mike has been pastoring nearly 35 years now with 30 years in his previous and first church, Compass Immanuel Church in Rapid View, SK, and now nearly 5 years in Prince Albert. Mike also serves on the Board of Directors for Nipawin Bible College.

Mike was born and raised in Martensville, SK and left that community when he married the love of his life, Julianne, 48 years ago now. Their marriage produced 3 children: first two boys, Darell and Dewey, and six years later their daughter, Delicia Joy, was born. Unfortunately, after only 13 years with her they lost her in an automobile accident near their home. They are blessed with 3 granddaughters: Mattaya Joy (12), Alison Grace (9) and Sarah Faith (7).

Mike and Julianne consider themselves blessed to have been able to do their undergrad and graduate work at Briercrest Bible College and Briercrest Seminary. God is most amazing, and they are thankful for the multitude of ways He has blessed their lives to the praise of His glory!

CONCERT

On the evening of Wednesday, June 5th, we are excited to present a concert from Cyndi Aarrestad. Cyndi is a singer/songwriter living on a farm near a Debden, Saskatchewan. She grew up in a Christian family where singing and music were always a part of their home, and has written over 2,200 songs, and made 11 recordings in a friend’s home studio, as well as her latest 15, which were self-recorded in her own home. Read more about her on her website.

Campus Activities

Horseshoe pits, crokinole boards, board games, and bocce balls will be available for those interested in some friendly competition. Feel free to bring your own equipment or games to add to the fun.

Talent Show

This year will see the return of the Talent Show, an opportunity to share the talents God has given you. Bring along your musical instrument, singing voice, a ventriloquist puppet, or whatever else you need to showcase your talent.

Music

Throughout the week retreaters will have an opportunity to worship together in music. Please come prepared to sing together. If you play an instrument, bring it along to bless others through music.

"Morning in the Classroom"

Get an opportunity to see what life as a student at Nipawin Bible College is like. "Morning in the Classroom" is a time with one of NBC's instructors during which you get a chance to experience NBC's academic programs.
