It is the time of year of transition in the life of a college. A time whereby faculty and staff make their plans known for the next school year, 2018 – 2019.
In that light we desire to keep all informed prior to these changes taking place, even though they will not come into effect until the next school year.
This week the board of directors of NBC have accepted the resignations of faculty and staff, Lindsay and Amanda Anderson, at the end of this year. They have been called to and accepted a position at Hillsdale Baptist Church, Regina, on the pastoral team there. We are excited for what the Lord is going to continue to do through them as they tackle this new position and calling upon their life.
Additionally, Timothy Lenko, our Admissions Counsellor and Drama Coach is being led by the Lord to new ventures as well. The Lord has great things in store for Timothy as he goes onto shine ever brighter till the full light of day.
Then finally, I myself, Lance Schubert must also let you know that after much prayer and fasting and with guidance from the Lord, that I am also to move on from NBC.
I desire you to know that in spite of transition I believe there are great days ahead for NBC. Even this week, we have clearly seen the hand of the Lord upon this college. I desire to remind you that the Lord is sovereign and NBC is the Lord’s and He is at work here as Psalm 135:6 says “whatever the Lord pleases he does, in Heaven and in earth in the seas and in all deep places”.
I say this to remind us that the Lord is sovereign and this community of NBC is not shook by transition because the Lord is in control. Max Lucado says, “…many years ago I spent a week visiting the interior of Brazil with a long time missionary pilot friend. Let me just say Wilbur and Orville Wright had a sturdier aircraft. I could not get comfortable. I kept thinking the plane was going to crash in the jungle and I’d be gobbled up by piranhas. I kept shifting around looking down and gripping my seat, as if that would help. Finally, the pilot had enough of my squirming. He looked over at me and shouted over the airplane noise, “we won’t face anything that I can’t handle. You might as well trust me to fly the plane”.
Yes, there is going to be some transition next year, but be assured God is good, God is sovereign, God is in control and we can trust Him to fly this plane called NBC.
