What is "Missions Conference"?

Nipawin Bible College's annual Missions Conference is a gathering of mission organizations, ministries, and bible camps from around the province, the country, and the world. It is an opportunity for NBC students, NBC staff, and members of the surrounding community to gain awareness of the gospel work happening in the world, as well as to better understand the role that they could have in helping to fulfil Christ's Great Commission. Come join us January 30-31, and interact with the 25+ organizations that will be represented here this year.

What happens at Missions Conference?

Missions Conference consists of 4 main sessions, one or more mini-sessions, games and activities, and booth time. "Booth Time" is the time provided to go around to the display booths of the various organizations in attendance, viewing their material and interacting with the representative from the organization. For the first session the focus is on camp ministry, while the remaining three sessions we focus on our theme "ABOVE & BEYOND" and how that pertains to missions.

There is no cost to attend Missions Conference, and we highly encourage churches to send members of their congregation for this weekend. Mark January 30 - 31 in your calendar.

Note: we are unable to accommodate guest for meals, guests will need to arrange their own meals off campus.

Speaker: Nard Pugyao

Nard Pugyao is a first-generation Isnag Christian from the Philippines. His passion for mission aviation and Bible translation spans more than 46 years.

Nard and his wife, Sandy, joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1977, and just recently retired as of January 31, 2024 from Wycliffe Bible Translators after serving over 46 years. Nard was a JAARS pilot/mechanic and Sandy was a teacher. Nard’s most memorable flight was delivering the first 500 copies of the Isnag New Testament to his home village in 1982.

Since retiring from flying in 2017, Nard continues to share the impact of Bible translation work. He and Sandy faithfully support projects in the Philippines, especially the Isnag Bible translation in Nard’s heart language. The whole Isnag Bible was finally completed in 2023 with a grand celebration in Dibagat, Nard’s village on June 25, 2023! Nard said, “We waited 66 years for this Bible to be completed and God made me see the beginning of the work when I was just 7 years old – and of course the completion in 2023!”

Nard trained at LeTourneau College and Moody Bible Institute and his wife Sandy graduated from Bryan College with a BS degree in Elementary Education. In 1996, he was named “Moody Bible Institute Alumnus of the Year.”

Nard and Sandy have two sons and three grandchildren. They reside in Waxhaw, NC.

*   Although we do our best to ensure that the organizations attending Missions Conference maintain core doctrinal beliefs that are closely in line with those of Nipawin Bible College (NBC), it is important to recognize that, among the organizations in attendance, there may be some beliefs and practices that do not fully align with those of NBC. Attendees are encouraged to engage thoughtfully, and with discernment. Not every viewpoint expressed during the conference necessarily reflects the official stance of NBC. Listen, learn, and engage in respectful dialogue. Despite theological nuances, our love for Christ binds us together.
