POSITION PURPOSE: Overseeing and leading a discipling culture of Living Faith through the preaching of God’s Word, shepherding the congregation, overseeing ministry staff and providing visionary leadership alongside the church elders.

QUALIFICATIONS
A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to a gospel-centered life.
Agreement with the church’s doctrinal statement, values and vision
Minimum 4 year equivalence of theological/pastoral education
Minimum of 5 years of pastoral experience, preferably having experience leading or working on a pastoral team.
Capable preaching, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Lead with humility, integrity, and vision.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Preaching & Teaching
Prepare and deliver expository, gospel-centered, biblically sound, Spirit-led sermons that apply God’s Word to both the head and heart
Provide oversight to all teaching ministries, ensuring theological soundness.
Lead weekly worship services and special services (e.g., communion, holidays, baptisms, weddings, funerals).
Vision & Leadership
Alongside the Elder’s, cast and communicate a clear vision for the church’s direction and spiritual growth.
Lead strategic planning and goal setting with the Elders that aligns with making disciples of Jesus Christ
Oversee the development of new ministries and initiatives.
Shepherding & Pastoral Care
Provide spiritual care and counseling to individuals and families.
Lead by example in character, humility, and servant leadership.
Equip the church to be a caring, evangelistic, and disciple-making community.
Staff & Ministry Oversight
Supervise Ministry Staff and volunteers; lead regular team meetings.
Collaborate with Elders and ministry leaders to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
Provide regular coaching, evaluation, and development for Staff.
Administration & Governance
Provide regular reporting to Elders and ensure all staff comply with time sheets and reporting
Oversee the stewardship of resources and annual budgeting of staff
Work in consultation with the church Office Administrator for documentation and reporting
Annually review and oversee human resource and church policies.
Community & Outreach
Represent the church in the local community with a heart for evangelism.
Encourage and model engagement in local and global missions.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare an Annual Report and Budget for your ministry areas each year.
Other duties as assigned by the Elder Board
INTER-OFFICE
All-Staff meetings every week.
Supervisory 1-1’s monthly with Ministry Staff
MINISTRY ASSESSMENT
The Lead Pastor will receive an annual assessment from the Ministry Staff and the Elder Team. A self-assessment will also be required.
